These micros are awoesme. Super happy with my purchase. I did reuse my original hardware. I did feel like the oem hardware is more secure. Now I have piece of mind when on gravel roads and some rocks get thrown.
The splash guards are effective and feel nice, so I'll give two stars for that. However, the bolts holding the two pieces together stripped immediately from contact with the plastic. For a product priced at $230, the materials should not be this cheap.
The screws provided with the kit strip almost instantly, and the holes aren’t designed for threaded nuts or bolts. As a result, the screws can’t hold properly, making it impossible for the micro mudguards to stay in place. Even the slightest touch causes them to slip, fall, or misalign.
If you manage to get the screws in without stripping the threads on them, they still don't hold due to the fact the threads can't grab the OEM holes.
Lastly, the instructions accessed via the QR code are extremely outdated, and reference steps involve parts that aren’t even included in the package.
Hi Ryan - Thanks for taking the time to review the product. We want to learn more about the issues you describe so that we can 1) make it right for you the customer and 2) improve on our internal processes moving forward. We do have course thread OEM bolts, that we can ship to you for the Micro's since there was an issue with the supplied flathead bolts when securing the female rivets within the wheel well. Regarding the Instructions, we just released all the TriXPoly products 5 months ago and all these instructions are new/up to date. For ease of use, all instructions are for the complete kit for the vehicle, as we offer a significant number of mixes and matches on all vehicles. We're committed to making this right for you and will be reaching out via E-Mail this morning. Jason
Much better, more durable replacement for the flimsy & delicate factory splash guards. Great fitment, easy to install, and clean appearance to top things off. HIGHLY recommend! A+ product and fast shipping as well.
The micro mudflaps are a design that I have been looking for to add to my 3rd gen Tacoma. The OEM front mudflaps no longer allowed clearance for 285/75/16 tires and the lack of front mudflaps caused water/mud/rock spray on the sides of the truck which caused paint damage. These micro mudflaps are adjustable and were able to provide coverage for the fender tire poke I have in the front and rear. The cons with my experience with purchasing these micro mudflaps include the customer service and hardware. I reached out to the company on the instagram page (which is active and posting) to inquire about if the front mudflaps would clear the cab mount chop I have. My alignment is dialed in by a custom off-road shop so I had the best tire clearance I could get with the caster from my adjustable UCAs. Needless to say, I did not get a response and when I received the front mudflaps I had to cut it with a heated exacto knife so that my tires would clear as the micro mudflaps did cover my cab mount chop. Also the hardware that was provided did not secure the mudflaps well enough to give me peace of mind that it would not fall off, so I reused the OEM hardware. All in all, this is an intuitive product and the design looks great. I would still purchase it again if I wanted to change the color or if they get damaged on the trails.
My oem guards were falling apart so I gave the Ark ones a try. I ordered the parts for a 2 inch lift half of the holes didn’t line up and I had to create my own. My suggestion is take the tires off first to save yourself any pain. Otherwise the product is much thicker and more heavy duty feeling than oem. Also the plastic push pins they give you work just fine and you get a few extra. Covers way more of the openings to your motor and so far I’m extremely happy with them.
