Ended up going with a MID kit after contemplating that or a smaller size. Based on several months of driving... anything smaller than MID (at least on a TRD Pro) would be partially functional, mainly for looks. I still get a minor amount of splash, but it is greatly reduced. Installation was relatively simple - watch the video.
All of the hardware was easy to install and fit perfectly. Watched a quick video on YouTube (they provide the link) and just followed along. There is a new revision where you need to use a push retained and remove a clip but thats simple enough. Product is sturdy and well made. Medium one does the job perfectly with a bugger offset and they look good without being obnoxious. 10/10

These are well made with good, hard material. They extend a little wider than the stock 4Runner mudflats, which is perfect because the new tires and wheels extend out about the same distance. They will offer great protection. Install was easy. Never had to take the tires off because of my mini-rachet and drill bits. Some trimming was required to stop rubbing in one small area. A dremmel tool was used and now it’s perfect.
I've had the Ark mid-mudflaps on my 4Runner for a few months now and couldn't be happier! These are honestly the nicest mudflaps I've seen on the market, in terms of both material/build quality and styling. I appreciate that this mid-length version is just a little shorter than the OEM mudflaps, providing more ground clearance and looking more sleek, but without sacrificing much protection. These are also much better than the OEM mudflaps in that they are actually flexible, and they do not wrap around the edge of your wheel well onto the painted fender. The OEM mudflaps tend to hold dust and gravel in that area, which will definitely ruin your paint over time. You can't go wrong with these!
These are awesome. The Ark mid is a perfect compromise between form and function. Up front, you get more tire clearance with the Ark design compared to the bulky Toyota OEM option. The coverage is also wider and higher, which helps prevent rocks kicking up into the panels. For complete coverage, you really need the full length option. I actually purchased both mid and full to have options. Mid looks really good IMO and still provides adequate ground clearance off road. For salty winters on paved roads, the full length should work well. I’ve heard Ark will produce custom length options if you ask. If I could do it again, I’d return the unused long ones and get a custom set with a length that falls between the mid and full. It’s worth noting there is a minor hardware mismatch. Ark provides very high quality bolts, but the thread is different than what Toyota uses. To install them, you’re effectively tapping new threads into the nut clip preventing the old OEM bolt from being used in the future. It works, but I was hesitant to do this. I bought some black 1.25” lag bolts that have a matching Toyota thread pitch and they bolt right on. Long term, they’re clearly not as nice as the bolts provided by Ark. Limited options between machine thread and coarse thread. I might install the included bolts now that I’m confident in the product.
I’ve never been a fan of aftermarket mudflaps but these fit the truck perfectly. I choose the mid ones and think they are the best choose. I also love the red logo color. Easy installation and seemed to be built very well.
No instructions . Lots of different fasteners and I must have misplaced the instructions . Not sure if the Slash gaurds are supposed to hang parallel to the tire but when matched to the corresponding factory fasteners they pitch inward to the body . Anyway I always seem to have a stash of fasteners and screws to get the job done . Probably not the appropriate Slash gaurds for any serious off road enthusiasts.
I previously purchased the micro guards wanting minimalist look but some protection and coverage for snow accumulation from the front tires onto the side rails. The micros did absolutely nothing for that to be honest. So they are now sitting in the garage and I installed these mid-sized flaps and they do a much better job without hanging down too much and catching on rocks when offroading.
Really like the mudflaps, but the hardware kit could use a little work in terms of the fastener length/thread pitch and number spacers provided (2 needed per side, only 1 provided). Install was easy, but I used the OEM fasteners in the lower holes.
